About the Site

Do I have to be a PSA Member to make a purchase?

No. Membership in the Philmont Staff Association is not required to make a purchase from this site except for, of course, the eligibility requirements to become an actual member of the PSA and membership requirements to attend the Annual PSA Reunion.

Is this site secure?

Yes. Our site is run on a secure server so that you may use your credit card with confidence.

Who runs this site?

Our site is the exclusive property of the Philmont Staff Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation as defined by applicable federal and state regulations. It is maintained by a number of dedicated volunteers.

Does Philmont sponsor this site?

No. The Philmont Staff Association is a separate legal entity from Philmont and from the Boy Scouts of America. At the time the Philmont Staff Association was incorporated in 1973 the BSA requested that we become a separate legal entity for insurance reasons. Since that time, the PSA has embarked on several national fund raising campaigns through our members and for the benefit of Philmont. If we were part of the BSA, such campaigns would not be possible as the BSA does not condone national campaigns--they prefer that any fund raising efforts be on the council level.

Making Purchases

Is there an additional charge when purchasing items?

Yes. In addition to the actual cost of the item, we charge for shipping and handling where appropriate. There further charges for items sent to foreign addresses.

Can I ship purchases to an address other than my own?

Yes. Once you check-out, you will be given the opportunity to enter both a shipping address and billing address.

How long can I expect to wait for my purchase?

Unless otherwise noted, all orders, memberships packets and registration materials will be shipped from our offices in New Mexico within 2-3 weeks.

Why don't you offer faster shipping options?

Our only reliable shipping option from Cimarron, NM is the United States Postal Service. While FedEx, Airborne, UPS, etc... do pick up and deliver to Philmont, they only do so when they have a truck coming our way. As soon as these services become more reliable, we will offer additional shipping options.

What if I don't receive my purchase?

If you have not received your merchandise/membership packet within 3 weeks of placing your order, please contact the . To speed our reply to your inquiry, please reference your order number.
